The Interactive Gaming Council's mission is the establishment of fair and responsible trading guidelines among online gambling industry members to preserve confidence on its products and services by its customers and provide forums that will immediately address concerns relating to the interactive gambling industry globally. It also aims to advocate a public policy on the gambling industry and provide as much public information concerning the gambling industry.

In connection with its mission, a designated representative is sent to communicate and encourage among the legislative body to establish a definite regulatory policy among gambling establishments. The Council is responsible of tackling issues concerning the present and future of Internet gambling.

The Council managed to successfully pass the Council's seal of approval in response to seeing the need to provide its industry members an accreditation recognizable to the public. The Interactive Gaming Council seal can be displayed by the gambling business operators on their sites which indicate the site's willingness to comply and abide to higher standards that will supplement an existing government gambling regulations. The seal provides a formal dispute procedure for the Council to take against non-compliance of its accredited members and reserves the Council its rights to remove their seal from noncompliant members.

Once a gambling business operator displays the seal to their site, a gambler may feel more secured playing on that site knowing that the site is well monitored by the Interactive Gaming Council and less likely to engage a substandard gambling business. The Interactive Gaming Council believes that abiding by their regulation and standards, its members will increase its legitimacy and credibility as an authentic gambling operating site.
